A boat, a licensed skipper and the whole day. Eight hours, Formentera and back with time to swim.
Renting a yacht here means one boat, one group and one day. Nothing is shared, nothing is on a schedule, and the only fixed points are the hour you leave and the hour you are back alongside.
Size decides the day more than budget does. Nine to thirteen metres is an open deck for up to eleven guests with a single skipper, and it starts at the Pardo 39 and the Chiara 37. Fourteen to twenty-three metres adds an interior, a heads cabin and somewhere to lie down out of the sun: the Pardo 52, the Predator 66, the Pershing 5X and the Riva Venere 75. Above twenty-four metres you are into four cabins, multiple decks and a crew of three or four, set out on the superyacht charter page. The strip below is the live fleet in that order.
Fuel sits outside those figures. On a small petrol day boat it is a modest addition; on a twenty-six-metre sport yacht it is a real line item. Each listing publishes its own consumption so the number is never a surprise.
If the group is under eight and the budget matters, look at boat rentals instead. If you want speed, the speedboat page narrows it down. For the reasoning behind size, season and crew, the charter guide goes through it properly. Read: seeing the island from the water.
Length, crew and engines, in that order. A larger hull needs more people to run it and burns more fuel to move, and both of those costs are inside the day rate before anyone thinks about luxury.
Between roughly twenty and forty per cent from low to high across the fleet. May and October are the quietest and cheapest months on the water, and the sea is often flatter than in August.
One skipper on the day boats and the smaller yachts, two on the mid-size sport yachts, and three or four on the largest. The crew number for each boat is listed on its own page.
Yes, and most groups do. The skipper will suggest a plan based on wind direction that morning, then adjust it as the day goes. Nothing is locked in beyond the departure and return times.
For July and August, as early as you can; the larger crewed yachts go first. In May, June, September and October there is usually availability inside a week, though weekends still move quickly.

From-prices for a private charter with skipper and crew, VAT included. Fuel is charged on the day. Final quote depends on date and group size.
A boat with no published rate is quoted per date, because the price moves with the season.
You tell us the date and how many of you there are. That is enough for us to check what is genuinely free, rather than what a calendar says is free.
We come back with three boats and the real price for your window, and we say which one we would take ourselves and why. Group size decides more than budget does: eight people on a nine metre day boat is a different day from eight people on a sixteen metre yacht.
On the morning you meet the skipper at the berth. The route is yours to set and it can change once you are out, which is usually what happens when the wind turns north and the east coast becomes the better idea.
Under fourteen metres is an open day boat. Fourteen to twenty three has cabins and shade. Above that you get a full crew.
